Home Gardening Expert

Pamela Hubbard has been a speaker, educator, and writer for over twenty years. She offers tips and advice for the home gardener on all garden and plant-related issues. She is a sought-after

speaker for nationwide garden clubs, flower shows, and horticultural groups. Her talks, which are both fun and informative, are illustrated with beautiful photographs.

For five years, Pam wrote a monthly newspaper article, Gardening in the Poconos. Her newspaper column earned a GardenComm 2019 silver medal. A master gardener emeritus, she is frequently asked to train new master gardeners for Penn State Extension.

Pam was born in England and acquired her love of gardening at her grandmother's knee. Her gardens, which have received three blue ribbons from the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, are a testament to her expertise and dedication. They were featured in the Summer 2020 edition of Country Gardens Magazine and on several television shows.

Most recently, she completed her book, The Contemporary Cottage Gardener: Climate-Friendly Mindful Methods for Growing Flowers and Food. In this book, Pamela shares her insights and experiences in creating a traditional cottage garden while dealing with the challenges of these nontraditional times.

As always, you may find her endlessly pursuing her dream of recreating her grandmother's cottage garden at Astolat Farm in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, where she lives with her husband. This deep connection to her roots is evident in her dedication to her gardens. Pam and Duane have two adorable goats named Doodles and Petunia.
